Wellness Data

When using SilverCompanion with a compatible smart bracelet, we may collect:

• Heart rate variability (HRV)
• Step count and activity data
• Sleep patterns

Location Data

• GPS location data (with your explicit permission) to help family members know your whereabouts for safety purposes

Communication Data

• Messages exchanged between family members through the app
• Voice notes sent within the app
• Check-in notifications

AI Conversation Data

• Voice conversations with AI companion (processed in real-time, not permanently stored)
• Mood analysis derived from conversations
• Conversation transcripts for context (stored locally on device)

Usage Data

• App interaction patterns
• Device information (model, operating system)

• Improve app performance and user experience
• Provide customer support

3. Data Sharing

With Family Members

Health data, location, mood insights, and status information are shared with family members you have explicitly connected with through the pairing process. You control what is shared.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google): For secure data synchronization, real-time messaging, and authentication
• OpenAI: For AI companion features using Realtime API (conversation data is processed in real-time but not stored permanently by OpenAI)
• xAI (Grok): Alternative AI provider for voice conversations (same privacy protections as OpenAI)

4. Data Storage and Security

• All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL
• Health and personal data is stored securely on Firebase servers (Google Cloud)
• Voice messages are stored temporarily and can be deleted by users
• AI conversations are processed in real-time and not permanently stored by AI providers
• Local data on your device is protected by iOS security features
• We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data

5. Data Retention

• Active account data is retained while you use the Apps
• Health data is retained for trend analysis (you control the timeframe)
• Messages and voice notes are retained until you delete them
• You can request deletion of your data at any time
• Deleted data is removed from our servers within 30 days
• Some anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics

7. Senior Control & Family Access

SilverCompanion is designed with senior-first privacy controls:

• Seniors approve all family connections via pairing codes
• Seniors can enable/disable health data sharing at any time
• Location sharing is opt-in and can be turned off instantly
• Seniors can disconnect family members without notification
• Mood analysis can be disabled in settings
• All sharing preferences are clearly visible in the app

Our Apps are not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States (for OpenAI/xAI services) and Europe (for Firebase/Google Cloud). We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable laws (GDPR, Swiss data protection laws).

• None - We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites
